KSHN Tower Move: KSHN radio has reported several times about major changes and upgrades to our broadcast transmitter location east of Devers. Now it is time to tell you that move will take place very soon. Since the rain has finally moved out, tower crews have been able to begin work on the new tower site location. As a part of the move, those crews will need to do some measurements on our current tower. To safely accomplish this, our transmitter will have to be shut off for about an hour, likely today. The larger move, expected to take up to three days, could start as soon as Sunday. At the time of the big move, our transmitter will be shut down, and we will go off the air at FM 99.9 for the remainder of the move. However, we will continue broadcasting on our website at www.kshn.com and on most cell phones through the free TuneIn Radio app.

Liberty’s Proposed Tax Rate: The City of Liberty is proposing a property tax rate of 61 cents per $100 of assessed value for the 2017-18 Fiscal Year. That rate is unchanged from this year. Liberty City Manager Gary Broz said council decided in budget workshops to leave the tax rate the same, though there have been discussions about an increase in city water and sewer rates to fund two multi-million dollar water and wastewater projects.
