Dayton Council: Dayton City Council met in joint session Monday with the Dayton Community Development Corporation board to hear a presentation by Kendig Keast Collaborative on a proposed Downtown Revitalization Plan. Kendig Keast is the consultancy firm hired by the city to develop what is called a Comprehensive Community Plan. That plan has been roughly a year in development and is intended to identify those areas in the city limits of Dayton where growth associated with the Grand Parkway (I-99) is most likely to happen and in what form. The proposed Dayton Downtown Revitalization Plan would focus specifically on how to keep the city’s downtown area viable once retail development associated with I-99 starts attracting shoppers to areas outside the city.
