Fatality Accident: A Huffman woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the overpass in Hardin early Thursday morning. DPS reports say it was shortly before 4 a.m. when a southbound vehicle, driven by 40-year-old Angela Picou, collided with an 18-wheel, tractor-trailer rig on S.H. 146 North. DPS investigators say it appears Ms. Picou’s vehicle drifted into the path of the northbound truck directly at the top of the railroad overpass. Pct. 3 JP Cody Parrish pronounced Angela Picou dead at the crash scene. We are told she is a former North Liberty County resident who was living in Huffman. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt in the wreck.
LISD Staff Changes: Liberty Elementary School has a new principal. On Tuesday night, the Liberty school board approved the hiring of Stephanie Cox to fill that roll. Now he is director of special programs and accountability for the district. Mr. McGee served as the Liberty Elementary School principal for the past two years. Prior to that, he was assistant principal at Liberty Middle School.
