Historical Donations: Sam Houston Center Manager Alana Inman said the deadline is fast approaching for donations of historical documents and artifacts to be used in the new museum exhibit outlining the history of the Atascocito District, from the original inhabitants to the modern era. Ms. Inman said they would like to have those donations by the end of this month. If you would like to donate historical items to the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center, it’s open Tuesday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, closed Sunday and Monday. Lee College: The Lee College Education Center-South Liberty County is hosting a free event Thursday, April 6th, where prospective students can jumpstart their college careers by learning more about applying for financial aid and scholarships, and enrolling in Weekend College. Ole Tyme Days: The 25th Annual Dayton Ole Tyme Days Festival is only a few days away Friday through Sunday April 21st through 23rd. The Ole Tyme Days Committee has decided the festival will now move back to its original location in the Downtown Dayton Area. The reason, according to Dayton City Officials is part of an ongoing effort to revitalize the city’s downtown area. Applications for booths and all contests for the 2017 Dayton Ole Tyme Days, Friday April 21st through Sunday April 23rd in Downtown Dayton once again are available at the festival web site. Wanted: Liberty County Pct. 4 Constable Robbie Thornton is asking for the public’s help locating 22-year-old Justin Chase Campbell who is wanted on two misdemeanor warrants - one for Possession of a Controlled Substance and the other for Possession of Marijuana.
