SS Card Online: If you’re a Texas resident whose social security card has been lost or damaged the only way to apply for a replacement is in person at a Social Security Administration Office. Andy Hardwick of the Houston Social Security Office said that will be changing. He said in the weeks ahead, Texas will join fifteen other states and the District of Columbia in allowing residents to apply for a replacement card on line. Mr. Hardwick said if all goes as planned Texans will soon be able to use their My Social Security Account at the Social Security Web Site to make replacement card applications. Call 800-772-1213 if you have questions.

Microchip: For the entire month of March, Veterinary Doctors Luke and Lucas Chachere, at their clinic on FM 1960 in Dayton, are offering their Home Again microchips for pets at the reduced price of $30 each. That includes the insertion of the chip, and paid one year membership to Home Again, and a lifetime registration of the chip to Home Again National Pet Recovery Database. Dr. Luke Chachere said this small chip allows the animal to be “scanned” and if you’ve kept your information up to date, your furry friend can be returned safely home.
