Hardin: Hardin City Council held their regular monthly meeting Monday night. When a question was asked about actual work done on the sewer system, all questions were prohibited. The city of Liberty has billed $77,000 for overages in just the past 8 months. As of this report, no actual repair work has been done on the many troubling issues with the Hardin sewer system, and that city is now more than $72,000 in debt to the city of Liberty for overages. The City of Hardin spent roughly $50,000 for an engineering study, and have approved an additional $32,000 for repair on manhole covers work that also has yet to begin. In other action of the Hardin city council with no contested races, council approved an ordinance to cancel the May 6th general election thus saving the cost.
