New Communications Systems: The Dayton City Council approved changing phone and internet service providers to a company called Datavox. According to Dayton City Finance Director Rudy Zepeda the city’s annual communication services costs will go from the current $48,000 annually to around $61,000 per year. However, Mr. Zepeda said staying with ATT and installing all the new phones and internet service that will be needed at Dayton’s new police, fire and municipal court facilities would mean the annual cost to the city would increase to about $61,000 per year anyway. Without an increase to the city’s cost, the new agreement will mean all new phones, hardware and, according to Zepeda, a better network.
