Fire: A Hardin area business on County Road 2005 was destroyed by fire back on February 24. Williams House was a repair shop for sewing machines and vacuum cleaners that was located next to L.L. Williams’ home. Hardin Fire Chief Craig Powell said Liberty and Hull-Daisetta volunteers also responded to provide mutual aid. LL Williams told KSHN he lost $130,000 in tools in that blaze, and has no plans to reopen, saying it had taken him 65 years to accumulate all of those tools.
Use Care: Local Certified Public Accountant Byron Swaim stressed the importance in keeping income tax returns free of errors. Mr. Swaim counsels a careful approach to doing your own tax returns and to turn to a highly trained professional for help with any complicated aspect of your tax situation. Byron Swaim said Enrolled Agents are less familiar than CPAs but they are fully trained to represent tax payers in any interaction with the Internal Revenue Service.
