Home Energy Audit: Entergy Texas offers an energy efficiency program called Entergy Solutions, a program that includes an inspection to help lower your electricity costs by making your home more energy efficient. Entergy’s Customer Service Manager Pam Williams said the inspection is done at little or no cost and can make a big difference in your power bill. Justice Center: The Liberty Justice Resolution Center -is located in a remodeled space at Walter Fontenot’s Law Offices- 414 Main Street across from the Courthouse in Liberty. That’s in the very front of the Fontenot Professional Building. The justice center has been open for about seven months and has been very busy since then. Attorney Walter Fontenot created the center with an initial focus on providing help to military veterans but now the Liberty Justice Resolution Center provides legal assistance or advice to those who cannot afford to pay for it. The office is separate but in the same building where the Walter Fontenot Legal Offices, 414 Main Street in Liberty is housed. Call 936-336-8753.
Mud Bug Fest: Mark your calendar – the Dayton Chamber of Commerce will hold a new event in April. It’s called the Mud Bug Fest. In conjunction with the festival, there will be a raffle for a 2017 Polaris Ranger. Chamber Executive Director Paula Moorhaj said $100 tickets give you a chance to win that UTV, or utility task vehicle, along with entry into the Mud Bug Fest. Mud Bug Fest is set for Saturday, April 8, from 3 to 10 p.m. There will be a crawfish dinner, live music, an auction plus a raffle for a 2017 Polaris Ranger. DYSA: Dayton Youth Sports Association is holding online signups through this Saturday for spring baseball and softball. It’s for those boys and girls who are ages 3 to 14 as of August 31, 2017. In addition, there is one more in-person registration event. It’s this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Daniel Park on FM 1008.
