Search Continues: Liberty Police Department continues their search for John Anthony Murton accused of last Friday nights shooting of his girlfriend. A warrant has been issued for John Anthony Murton III for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Police are asking anyone with knowledge of this man’s whereabouts to contact them right away. Call any time of the day or night at 936-336-5666. Murton is considered armed and dangerous.
Men’s Health Fair: The Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center and KSHN Radio will host a free men’s prostate screening clinic and health fair. It’s tomorrow from 8 a.m. to noon at the hospital. The health fair includes both the D.R.E. and the blood test called PSA. The prostate testing will be coupled with several other blood tests important to men’s health. The free men’s health fair is at the Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center, 1353 North Travis in Liberty. Please use the Travis Street entrance.
Baby Shower: A communitywide baby shower for Kami Lowe is tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Liberty Church of Christ on North Main Street at the bypass. Organizers say items needed include baby diapers, wipes, personal hygiene products, baby clothes, and gift cards. It is a come-and-go event.
Metro Go Texan: The Liberty County Houston Metro Go Texan Committee invites everyone age 15 and up to a dance tomorrow starting at 8 p.m. in the TVE Expo Hall on FM 563 in Liberty. Jake Hooker and the Outsiders will be performing live. Liberty County students received $108,000 in educational scholarships through the rodeo last year. Tickets to tomorrow’s dance are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. For tickets or information, call Michael Page at 936-402-0471.
MLK Celebration Canceled: Originally planned for tomorrow, the local MLK Celebration was called off in memory of Lois Lee Pruitt, who died Sunday night
