Drop off Your Drugs: The 8thannual, Take Back Drugs Day is tomorrow ant the Liberty Police department will be collecting prescription medication for safe disposal. The collection day is an opportunity to turn in all unused, expired or unwanted prescription medication. Liberty Police Detective Jennifer Boles said officers will be outside in the police department parking area to make drop off easier. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Liberty Police Department at 1914 Lakeland Drive.

DaytonOle Tyme Days: The 22ndannual Dayton Ole Tyme Days Festival is today through Sunday in and around the Dayton Community Center.

TransCanada Grants: The TransCanada Pipeline company is offering grant funding to non-profit organizations. Tax exempt organizations or government entities are encouraged to apply for grants up to $5,000 for programs that involve community building, safety and protecting the environment. Ayers to Retire: During Tuesday's commissioners court meeting, an item on the agenda announces the upcoming retirement of Richard Ayres. He is the Veterans service officer for the local Veterans Service Office in Liberty County. During the meeting, commissioners agreed they would ask for applications to select his replacement. His final retirement date is May 31st.

CASAFundraiser: Court Appointed Special Advocates or CASA of Liberty and Chambers Counties will hold its "Mi Casa Es Su Casa" fund-raiser tomorrow night. The band "Three Way Switch" will provide live music during the dance. Organizers say there are also some great items that have been donated for the live auction with auctioneer Brady Hansen. The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Liberty Center at City Hall. Tickets are $50. Â Advance tickets are available by calling the CASA office at (936) 334 9000. Tickets will also be available at the door.
