Softball Broadcasts: KSHN will broadcast the Liberty Lady Panthers Softball bi-district playoff game this Thursday night as they take on Hardin Jefferson in the first game of a best of three series. Then Friday night, we will pick up the Dayton Lady Broncos in their series opening facing Nederland in Dayton. Both games begin at 7 p.m. The Lady Broncos 2ndand third games will be played on Saturday, and due to prior commitments, we will not be able to broadcast those two games. Liberty's games, two and three are both Friday night.


BostonMarathon: Miranda Smart of Dayton, joined more than 35,000 athletes from across the world to compete in yesterday's Boston Marathon. The 36-year-old Liberty County resident completed the 26.2 mile course in 3:25:53, putting her in the top 10 percent of the 16,092 women running. Earlier this year, the Dayton woman finished the Houston Marathon in 3:34:38. Yesterday, she ran the Boston Marathon about 9 minutes faster.


Ole Tyme Days: Entries are still being accepted for the Dayton Ole Tyme Days Junior Chili Cook off. The cook off is divided into two age groups, 5-12 and 13-18 years old. Set up is 8 a.m. Saturday with cooking beginning at 9 a.m. Cost to enter is $20. For information call (832) 289 0009. Entry forms are available online. Ram Fundraiser: This Saturday, Liberty Dayton Chrysler is sponsoring what they are calling the "Next Crop" fundraiser. Managing Partner David Leonard said for every Ram truck test drive this Saturday, Ram will donate $20 to the local FFA Chapter in support of their leadership programs up to $2,000. There is no cost or obligation to buy anything, just stop by the dealership Saturday from 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to take a test drive.


Hardin Softball: The Hardin Lady Hornets softball team has advanced to the playoffs as co-champions of District 25-2A. The Hardin girls play the Danbury Lady Panthers this Thursday in a one-game, winner-take-all, bi-district contest. The first pitch is 6 p.m. at the Dickinson High school field.
