Theft: Liberty police are investigating a theft by unusual means that happened Monday evening on Milam Street. Police say two people, a man and woman, went to a home in the 600 block of Milam claiming to be with City of Liberty Water Department. Once inside the home, the pair is alleged to have stolen more than $24,000 in furs and jewelry. The suspects are described as both white - the female said to be wearing a hat and jacket while the male is said to be 6 foot with a slender build, no facial hair and short brown hair. They were reportedly driving a white four-door car, possibly a Chevy Malibu. City Manager Gary Broz reminds residents that city workers do not enter homes and they should all have a city badge. If you have information on this criminal duo, call the Liberty Police Department at 336 5666.
