DaytonWater Well: Work is moving rapidly on the City of Dayton’s new water well. City Manager David Douglas said the new well is about 150 feet from the old one, and is 1,500 feet deep, like the well that failed. But, he said, he expects the new well will produce an even greater volume of water than the 900 gallons per minute the older well supplied.

Football: It’s the final week of the high school football regular season. The Hull-Daisetta Bobcats, who are assured a playoff spot, are at home facing the Colmesneil Bulldogs for a district championship title, kick off 7 p.m.The Hardin Hornets face the East Chambers Buccaneers in Hornet Stadium, kick off is at 7:30.  The Barbers Hill Eagles face the New Caney Eagles. That game kicks off tonight at 7 New Caney. All three of those games can be heard online at Online and on the air, the 5-4 Dayton Broncos travel to Summer Creek to take on the undefeated, state ranked, Bulldogs. That match-up starts at 7 p.m.The Liberty Panthers are at home against the Tarkington Longhorns. That game takes to the airwaves at 7:30 p.m.The Panthers can still get a playoff spot if they beat the winless Longhorns tonight.

As for Liberty, the Lady Panthers will battle the Sweeny Lady Bulldogs tomorrow afternoon at 2 the Phillips Field House in Pasadena.

Clarification:  In a recent Radiogram, we ran a report on the hospital district’s plan to have a needs based feasibility study done.  The on-air news story made it clear the district was going to approach the Dayton Community Development Corporation to seek their participation as well as the Liberty Community Development Corporation, However that was not clear on our Radiogram. So far no such negotiations have occurred. The error was KSHN Radio’s.

Obituaries: Betty Jean (Long) Brock, 85 of Houston. Memorial service will be held at a later date.
