Break-In: LibertyPolice received a report of a break in at an old, unoccupied LibertySchool Districtbuilding yesterday, but no suspect was there when they arrived. Liberty Police Lieutenant Chip Fairchild said around 12:30 p.m.yesterday, witnesses reported seeing someone on the grounds of the old WestLibertyTraining School.  The school itself has been closed for decades and LISD now uses it for storage. Lt. Fairchild said officers detected signs of a break in at the building, but those responsible left before police arrived.

Historical Tours: The Liberty County Historical Commission is sponsoring cemetery tours in the historic LibertyCityCemeterytomorrow and Sunday with historical characters and tales from their lives. It’s not a scary tour; instead it focuses on the people that helped shape this community.  Two tours will be offered each day – at 4 p.m.and 5:30 p.m.Ticket price is a $10 donation that will go to the Liberty County Historical Commission. Football: In action this week the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats face their first district opponent. They travel to Iola to take on the Bulldogs in a 7 p.m.kickoff. The Hardin Hornets are at home versus the Warren Warriors. That game kicks off at 7:30 p.m.The Barbers Hill Eagles and Dayton Broncos tie it up in Daytontonight. That game starts at 7:00 p.m.The Liberty Panthers are also at home against the Coldspring Trojans with a 7:30kick off.  The Liberty, Dayton, Hardin, Hull-Daisetta and Barbers Hill games can all be heard online at www.kshn.com. The Panthers and Broncos are also on 99.9 fm.
