Fatal Wreck: The four year old son of an admission clerk at the LibertyDaytonRegionalMedicalCenterwas killed in a car crash Monday night on SH 146 in Hardin. Braiden Anthony Mainor, was pronounced dead in the hospital where his mother works. A DPS report indicates the child was restrained in a child’s car seat when the mother’s car was struck from behind.


Mom Arrested: The mother of twin girls found over the weekend, locked, naked in the back room of their home, was arrested yesterday afternoon. Liberty County Sheriffs Department arrested Brandy M. Dominguez at her home. She is currently being held in the Liberty County Jail on charges of abandonment and endangering a child by neglect.


PD Ground Breaking: Monday morning, officials with the City of Libertyalong with officers with Liberty PD, turned the first shovels of dirt for a new permanent home for the police department.  In ‘08, Hurricane Ike destroyed the PD building downtown. This new 10,000 square foot building will cost $2.6 million with $1 million provided by grant funding. The expected completion date is September 2014 on Lakeland Dr. next to the fire station.


TVE: The Grand Champion Market Goat is owned by Taylor Davis while the Reserve Champion is owned by Tyler Davis. Those brothers are with Barbers Hill FFA. Judges also awarded senior showmanship in Market Goats to Tyler Davis. The Junior Showmanship nod went to Brooke Poole, also of Barbers Hill. Grand Champion Junior Decorated Cakewas awarded to Madison Steadham – Barbers Hill Jr. FFA. Reserve Champion is Kade Goodwin. Grand Champion Senior Decorated Cake honors go to Mikenzie Yates of Dayton4-H with Reserve Champion awarded to Macie Broussard.
