Update: The Liberty County Sheriffs Department is investigating a possible connection between a missing South Liberty County man and the unidentified body found floating in the Trinity River last Saturday. Sheriff’s Captain Ken DeFoor said at this point there is no definite evidence to link the body of a man found in the river by fishermen to 35-year-old James Allen Graves who lives off FM 1409. Captain DeFoor said Graves’ parents contacted the sheriff’s office after hearing news reports of the unidentified body. The family told investigators they had no contact with their son since Monday, August 26th. The Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help with any information regarding either the disappearance of James Graves, or the male body found in the Trinity River Saturday morning. DogAttack-Chambers County: An unidentified Chambers County woman was attacked by a dog owned by a Liberty County resident. According to the Chambers County Sheriffs Department, the dog’s owner, Jessica Epps, acknowledged her dog jumped its fenced area and attacked the woman. The victim was treated at San Jacinto Hospital. The dog is said to be a 40-50 pound female mix breed, unregistered and without a rabies vaccination. The Chambers County Sheriff’s office said the dog is now quarantined at a veterinarian for 10 days.


Football: The 0-1 Dayton Broncos are at home tonight against the Livingston Lions, also 0-1. Kickoff is 7 p.m. The Liberty Panthers, 0-1 on the season are on the road against 1-0- powerhouse Newton Eagles. That game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Both the Panthers and the Broncos will be broadcast on KSHN and Also on tonight are the Hardin Hornets versus the Tarkington Longhorns starting at 7:30 at Hornet Stadium. Another match up on www.kshn.comtonight is the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats as they travel to Kountze to take on the Lions, kickoff in that one is 7 p.m. Also online will be Barbers Hill at Lumberton. The Eagles and Raiders kick off tonight at 7:30 p.m.
