Hull Murder Case: Four people have pleaded guilty in connection to a March 2011 murder in Hull. According to information from U.S. Attorney John Bales of Beaumont, 49-year-old Vicki Stark-Fitts of Hull pleaded guilty yesterday to participating in a pattern of racketeering that included murder and methamphetamine distribution. Earlier this summer, three others connected with this case pleaded guilty to murder in aid of racketeering. They are Kenney Don Stanley of Vidor, Tanner Lynn Bourque of Port Arthur and Kristopher Leigh Guidry of Vidor. Prosecutors say the four were part of a “white’s only” gang and were involved in the murder of 25-year-old James Sedtal of Bridge City. Sedtal was killed in March 2011 here in Liberty County but his body was dumped in Hardin County. Each of the defendants face up to life in prison at sentencing.

The new contract means new areas of responsibility.  Director Mike Koen said, beginning September 1, Liberty County EMS will be covering most of Liberty County, both north and south. The only areas not covered by Liberty County EMS are the incorporated city limits of Liberty, Cleveland and North Cleveland.

Property Values: Liberty County Chief Appraiser Alan D. Conner said 2013 property values for both the City of Dayton and the Dayton school district are down from last year. He said those decreases in property values are related to a drop in values for companies storing products at the CMC Railyard in Dayton.
