Receipts: Local Certified Public Accountant Byron Swaim said when enjoying a tax deductible business lunch, hang on to those receipts. He said, should your company face an IRS audit, having the receipt and some details of the meeting to back up the deduction claim is important. CPA Swaim said a simple written explanation on the back of the receipt including who the lunch was with, and a word or two description of the discussion can make all the difference in whether the deduction is allowed.
