Kidnapping: A 23 year old LibertyCountyman is in the Liberty County Jail charged with kidnapping after he grabbed his 18-month old son from his own mother in Devers, who was watching the child while Nobles' ex-wife was with another child at Texas Children’s Hospital.  The 9-1-1call came into the sheriff’s dispatchers around 6 p.m.Wednesday night.  Much later, Kevin Nobles was found just across the ChambersCountyline, and the child was found to have been left with a friend of the father.  The boy has been reunited with his family. Kevin Nobles is in the Liberty County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond charged with kidnapping and violation of a protective order.


DaytonShooting: Dayton Police captured shooting suspect, Jamie Lynn Taylor early Wednesday morning at a motel in Mont Belvieu. Dayton Police Sgt. Doug O’Quinn said the shooting victim, Charles Morgan of Channelview, is expected to survive but remains in critical condition awaiting surgery.  Sgt. O’Quinn said a Dayton police corporal on patrol turned up information that the suspect was in the motel in Mont Belvieu. That corporal and a patrol sergeant arrested Taylor around 4 a.m. Wednesday without incident. JP #1 Stephen Hebert set bail at $30,000. Jamie Lynn Taylor posted bond and was released. He is charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.


Port Cleanup: Clean up of the unsightly mess left in the portof Libertyis under way. Sgt. Jim Yetter of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Law Enforcement division said the investigation is ongoing but one of the companies responsible, KGN Business Enterprises has stepped up to begin the clean up.


Panther Tickets: Season tickets for the Liberty Panthers’ five 2013 varsity home games go on sale Thursday, August 1. Those reserved season tickets will be on sale until noonAugust 30.
