Captain Evans said no other information is available at this time and the toddler’s death remains under investigation. At last report, no bond had been set. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of the little girl’s death. **************************************************** Liberty Tax Rate: Liberty City Council is proposing keeping the tax rate unchanged for the 2012-2013 fiscal year at 59 cents per $100 of assessed property value. Public hearings on the City of Liberty’s tax rate will be August 28 and September 4. A public hearing on the city’s proposed 2012-13 budget is also set for Tuesday, August 28. Those public hearings begin at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall. **************************************************** Smiles on Wheels: A mobile dental clinic called Smiles on Wheels will be at Liberty City Hall this Saturday. There are 40 locals pre-qualified, and the clinic will then serve other Liberty County residents on a first-come, first-serve basis. They hope to serve 150 people throughout the day. Check-in is at First United Methodist Church of Liberty. **************************************************** LISD Phones: Liberty ISD has upgraded its phone systems at LHS, LES and the administration building.
