VOLUME 27, NO. 107 THURSDAY, JUNE 7, 2012 Conserve Water: Liberty City Manager Gary Broz is asking citizens, who are customers of the city water department to please conserve water use for the next three, perhaps four days. A major pump at the Monta Street water well has failed. Even though they have technicians, here, who can do this work, pumps that size are not readily available. City Manager Gary Broz is asking citizens to avoid excessive uses like filling swimming pools, watering lawns and washing cars. KSHN Radio will be told as soon as repairs are complete and we will pass the word on to our listeners. **************************************************** Dayton School Board: During Tuesday night’s meeting of the Dayton School Board, trustees discussed the possibility of staff salary increases in the coming budget year. Dayton Superintendent Mike Kuhrt said salary increases as proposed would be to offset increases in the school district’s employee health insurance over the past two years. As reported, DISD staff salaries were frozen last year, but health insurance premiums went up. Assistant Superintendent for Business Services Tami Pierce said projections have the Dayton ISD at about a $2.75 million deficit for the 2012-2013 school year. That deficit takes into account an estimated $750,000 in campus and building improvements and the possibility of $550,000 in employee salary increases. Mrs. Pierce said about $800,000 in decreased state funding, as well as other projected expenses also figure into that projected deficit. **************************************************** The Producers: Looking for some summer entertainment?
